What is it?

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) ist ein W3C-Standardformat, das 1999 eingeführt wurde. Im Gegensatz zu Rasterformaten wie JPG und PNG, die Bilder als Raster von Pixeln speichern, speichert SVG Bilder als mathematische Beschreibungen von Formen, Pfaden und Farben unter Verwendung von XML-Markup.
