What is it?

SVG (Gráficos Vectoriales Escalables) es un formato estándar del W3C introducido en 1999. A diferencia de los formatos rasterizados como JPG y PNG que almacenan imágenes como una cuadrícula de píxeles, SVG almacena imágenes como descripciones matemáticas de formas, caminos y colores utilizando marcado XML.
