What is it?
PPSX is the PowerPoint Show format in Office Open XML, introduced with Office 2007. It holds the same content as a PPTX presentation but is set to open directly into a full-screen slideshow rather than the editing view.
Like PPTX, a PPSX file is a ZIP archive of XML parts. The difference is behavioral: opening a PPSX starts playback immediately. It is the modern successor to the legacy binary PPS format and does not contain macros (the macro-enabled show is PPSM).
