Which Quality Setting Fits Your Photo
Sharing online or by email
A mid range setting around 75 to 85 percent keeps the photo crisp on screen while trimming the file so it sends and uploads quickly. Ideal for messaging apps and social posts.
Printing or archiving
Push the slider toward 95 to 100 percent. Higher quality preserves fine detail and color gradients, which matters most when a photo will be printed or kept long term.
Website images
Choose 70 to 80 percent for pages where load speed counts. The visual loss is hard to notice at typical display sizes, and the smaller JPG helps pages render faster.
Not sure what you need
Leave the slider near its default. It produces a clean, broadly useful JPG for most photos. You can always convert the original again at a different setting since nothing is overwritten.
Common Problems and Fixes
The tool says the file is not a HEIC or HEIF
Only files ending in .heic or .heif are accepted. If your photo has a different extension such as .jpg or .png it is already in a viewable format. Confirm you selected the original Apple file straight from the device.
Conversion failed or the library did not load
The converter relies on the heic2any library loading in your browser. If you see a load error, check your internet connection, disable aggressive content blockers for this page, then reload and try again.
I need to convert many photos

The JPG looks softer or larger than expected
JPG is a lossy format, so low quality settings can soften detail, while very high settings can make the file bigger than the original HEIC. Reconvert the same photo at a different quality level until the result fits your needs.
