Free Online Layered Image Editor

Edit images in your browser with real layers: add photos, text, shapes and brush strokes, adjust and filter each, remove backgrounds, then export PNG, JPG or WEBP. Nothing uploaded, no account.

Free Online Layered Image Editor

Stack images, text, shapes and brush strokes as layers on one canvas, move, resize and rotate each, adjust and filter photos, remove backgrounds, then export a PNG, JPG or WEBP. It all runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Drop an image to start

or click to browse. Add more images as layers any time.

JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, SVG. Everything stays on your device.

Nothing leaves your device

The editor runs inside your browser tab. Your images are never uploaded to a server, so your work stays yours.

Free with no account

No signup, no watermark, no trial timer, and no export limit. Open the page and start designing.

Real layers, not one filter

A full layered canvas with images, text, shapes and brush, per-layer control, and a clean export in one place.

Everything the Editor Does

A real layered canvas editor in your browser: images, text, shapes and brush, with per-layer control and clean export.

Layers and Design

Layers of Everything

Add images, text, and shapes (rectangle, ellipse, line) as layers, plus freehand brush strokes on their own layer.

Move, Resize, Rotate

Drag any layer, pull its handles to resize, and spin it with the rotate handle. Duplicate, delete, lock, or hide each one.

Opacity, Blend, Order

Set per-layer opacity and blend mode (multiply, screen, overlay and more), and send layers to the front or back.

Adjust, Canvas and Export

Adjust and Filter Photos

Per image: brightness, contrast, saturation and blur, plus grayscale, sepia, invert, warm and cool. Flip and remove the background in one click.

Canvas and Crop

Set a canvas size or aspect ratio (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, 4:3), pick a background colour or keep it transparent, and crop the whole design.

Undo and Export

Undo and redo any change, then flatten every layer into one PNG, JPG or WEBP at your chosen quality. Nothing is uploaded.

From Blank Canvas to Finished Design

  1. Add your first image

Drop an image in and it becomes the base layer, sized to the canvas. Add more images, and each lands as its own movable layer you can stack and blend.

  2. Build up layers

Use the toolbar to add text, rectangles, ellipses, lines, or a freehand brush. Drag each layer to move it, pull the handles to resize, and use the top handle to rotate.

  3. Shape every layer

Select a layer to set its opacity, blend mode, and order. On an image, adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and blur, apply a filter, flip it, or remove its background in one click.

  4. Set the canvas and export

Pick a size or aspect ratio, choose a background colour or keep it transparent, crop if you need to, then flatten everything into one PNG, JPG or WEBP.

What Runs in a Browser, and What Does Not

The editor uses your browser's canvas engine, so everything happens on your device. That keeps your images private, but sets a couple of honest limits worth knowing.

Works wellWhere the limits are
Layered composites, text, shapes and brushVery large images can strain the tab's memory
Adjustments, filters, crop and flipBackground removal is a quick corner-based cut, not perfect on busy edges
Private, on-device processing with no uploadNo cloud effects or AI generation
Exporting a clean PNG, JPG or WEBPPNG keeps transparency; JPG does not

Troubleshooting

Which formats can I add and export

Add JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF or SVG images. Export the finished design as PNG (with transparency), JPG, or WEBP. Choose the export quality for JPG and WEBP.

A transparent background exported white

JPG has no transparency, so a transparent canvas fills with the background colour. Export as PNG or WEBP to keep the transparency.

Background removal left rough edges

Removal clears pixels close to the corner colour, which works best on a plain, contrasting background. On busy or similar-coloured backgrounds it can leave edges, so a solid backdrop gives the cleanest cut.

I can't select a layer on the canvas

If a layer is locked or hidden, it won't respond to clicks. Unlock or unhide it from the layers panel, or select it there directly.

How it works

The Layered Image Editor operates entirely within your browser. Users can create projects by adding images, text, shapes, and brush strokes as separate layers. Each layer can be adjusted individually for opacity, position, and effects like filters. Background removal is facilitated through an intuitive interface that isolates subjects from backgrounds. Once editing is complete, users can export their work in PNG, JPG, or WEBP formats without any need for file uploads or account creation.

The tool utilizes HTML5 CANVAS for rendering, allowing real-time manipulation of layers. Changes are processed locally, ensuring a responsive experience. Input formats include standard image files, while the output supports popular web formats. The editor maintains a simple user interface, enabling quick access to layer management and export options, streamlining the workflow for effective image creation and editing.
