Clicking works for a dozen pages. For long documents, a range like 1-3, 7, 10- is faster. Commas separate, dashes span, and an open end means "to the last page". Try one.

Rotating in most PDF viewers only turns your view; the file isn't changed. We change the page's own rotation setting and save it, so every app, printer and phone shows it the right way. Here's the same sideways page opened in three places.

A scanned "blank" page is never quite empty.

Double-sided scanning adds a back side for every sheet, full of dust, show-through and staple shadows. We measure how much ink each page has; you choose where "blank" ends.

Rotating a page changes one number, not the drawing.

Every page is drawn in its own coordinate space, with (0, 0) at the bottom left of the /MediaBox. /Rotate tells the viewer to turn the finished page clockwise before showing it. The content stream isn't touched, which is why rotating is lossless and instant. Pick a value to see the transform a viewer applies.

Annotations follow the page when it turns, unless their NoRotate flag is set: then a sticky-note icon stays upright, pinned at its top-left corner.

Your browser builds the 12-page scan from the board above as a real PDF and saves it two ways. A full rewrite writes a fresh file. An incremental update appends only the changes, so deleted pages stay readable. The search runs on the real bytes.

Page dictionary entries an organiser has to respect.

Moving, rotating or deleting a page touches more than /Kids and /Rotate. These are the page-level entries (ISO 32000-1, §7.7.3.3) and what a careful tool does with each.
