FileFormer runs entirely in your browser. Every conversion and compression happens on your own device using JavaScript, WebAssembly, and modern web APIs, so your files are never uploaded to a server.
All tools -- from JSON formatting, Base64 encoding, and text utilities to image, audio, video, document, and archive conversion -- run directly in your browser. Your file stays on your device the whole time. Nothing is sent to our servers, no account is needed, and there is no server step.
Because processing is fully client-side, your files are not transferred over the network, stored, or seen by us at any point. The conversion runs locally and the result is made available for download right in your browser. We cannot retain, inspect, or reuse your files because they never reach us.
Since files never leave your device, there is nothing for us to store, log, or analyze. We do not use your files for training, advertising, or analytics -- they simply stay with you.
No sign-up is required to use any tool on the site. We do not require email, identity verification, or payment to convert or compress files. If you encounter a tool that asks for any of those, treat it as a bug and let us know at editorial@fileformer.com.

We still do not provide formal compliance attestations such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or comparable frameworks, so use your own judgment for regulated workflows.
