About This Tool

This tool lets you browse, search, and copy emoji to paste anywhere. Emoji are standardised characters defined by the Unicode Consortium, which is why the same emoji works across apps and platforms, though each vendor draws its own artwork for them.

Finding a specific emoji by scrolling a system keyboard is slow, so searching by keyword (such as heart, food, or arrow) is far quicker. Because emoji are ordinary text characters under the hood, a copied emoji pastes into documents, messages, code, and social posts alike, carrying its meaning wherever Unicode is supported.

Under the hood, a single emoji can be one code point or a sequence joined by a zero-width joiner, which is how skin-tone variants and family emoji are assembled from simpler pieces. That is why an emoji occasionally renders as two glyphs on an older device: it lacks the combined form. Copying from a picker gives you the canonical sequence, so it displays correctly wherever the platform's font is current.

How to Use It

  1. Search by keyword or browse the categories.
  2. Click an emoji to copy it.
  3. Paste it into your message, document, or post.
