odp ODP Overview
ODP is the OpenDocument presentation format maintained by OASIS and used by default in LibreOffice Impress and OpenOffice. Its revisions track the ODF standard itself: 1.0 arrived in 2005, 1.1 in 2007, and 1.2 in 2011.
An ODP file is a ZIP package rather than a single stream. Inside, the slide content and automatic styles live in content.xml, named styles in styles.xml, metadata such as author and save time in meta.xml, and per-application preferences in settings.xml.
Because the specification is public and implementable without licensing, ODP is common in public-sector and archival workflows, where reliance on a single vendor's format is a risk.[1][2][3]
